Ski and Snowboard Training

Meribel 06

Have you ever wanted to try Ski or perhaps Snowboard, but thought you would not be fit enough to do so, or maybe you are an accomplished winter sportsman who just wants to increase their fitness levels?
It is very important to ensure that your body is ready for the pressures it is going to be put through, that means as well as correct instruction from the ski and boarding instructor you will need to complement this training with upper and lower body training as well as core training.
Training movement skills such as balance, core strength, quickness, agility and power can make a big difference in your on-snow performance. Whether you’re a weekend warrior, a competitive skier you can benefit from doing extra gym skills.
One of the best tools around is the Bosu (Ball other side up), and Les uses this in all of his workouts as it helps you develop strength , endurance, quickness and balance skills that you can transfer to snow sports, it also helps teach your muscles how to react quickly and effectively.
So if you have a ski holiday coming up soon, just remember that any extra training you can get before hitting the slopes will help you get the most of your holiday!
